Well we set off for the demonstration at Nillin

Well we set off for the demonstration at Nillin.  As usual the soldiers blocked the entrance to the village but of course we just walked down the road a bit and through the olive groves to the village.

The demonstration took place after the prayers and the Neutar Karta (excuse spelling my brain is officially dead now) were there as well.  They are a group of Israeli's who say that the Jewish people should not be in Palestine as it says in the Torah that the Messiah will bring them.
There were approx 300 of us chanting and walking towards the wall.  We were split by the tear gas that was fired at us into a few groups.  Our group managed to make it up to the bulldozer and managed to halt construction of the illegal wall.  We were immediately fired at with live and rubber bullets and tear gas.  There were approximately 5 Israelies arrested and myself and 2 other Internationals.  We had left our passports back at the ISM flat so had no I.D. on ourselves.  We were taken to a Police Station at a nearby settlement, yes the one that faces the village and the Israeli's were taken elsewhere.
We were held for a good few hours, being questioned and interrogated by a Senior Officer.  We had nothing to say to him and eventually they released us in the early hours of the morning where we had to make our way back to collect our passports.

People might ask why we do this "Well should we just sit back and do nothing?".

Should we wait until the wall is finished then talk about how illegal it is?

Am I correct in saying that the Jews after the holocaust asked why the world sat back and did nothing?

Well I myself and others here can say, "yes we did try and do something".

This wall is illegal under International Law and yes the Israeli's do not care about that, so it is up to the Internationals to demonstrate and let people know the atrocities that the IOF carry out.

Yes we do make a difference.  Billin another village I have often demonstrated at, along with other members of our Campaign won their Court Case to have the wall moved.  The IOF have offered some of the Palestinians land back but Billin Village have refused and want it all back of course.  I mean what the Court Case settled on.

I know some people say that you need the politics to achieve anything here, I am sorry but YOU ALSO NEED PEOPLE HERE TO BE HUMAN RIGHT OBSERVERS, TO SLEEP IN PALESTINIAN HOMES UNDER THREAT OF DEMOLITION OR EVICTION.

JUST LIKE THE MEMBERS OF OUR CAMPAIGN WHO LEFT A FEW WEEKS AGO.  A LOT OF THEIR TIME WAS SPENT DURING THE ABOVE AND DEMONSTRATING WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND SUPPORTING THEM.

Please, please come to Palestine and witness the atrocities of the occupation here.

Do not just talk about Palestine, but come here and spend time with the people in the Refugee Camps.  Queue at the checkpoints with them, observe the demonstrations and if you wish participate in them.  Help at the Olive Harvesting by picking olives.

PALESTINE NEEDS YOU
